Mother Willie B. Burnette-Green Johnson, 87, went to be with the Lord, on Monday, February 12, 2018, at the Imperial Point Hospital in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Willie B. Burnette Green-Johnson was born on July 23, 1930 to the late Deacon Willis and Ida Burnette in Emanuel County, Georgia. She began her early childhood education in the Emanuel County, Georgia School System. Upon completion, she be- gan caring for her sick mother. This was the beginning of her caregiver ministry. Dur- ing her lifetime, she became caregiver to her spouses, parents, children and many friends. She was united in holy matrimony to Mr. Warren Green Jr. in February 1950, who preceded her in death in 1972. To this union were born nine children three of which, Emma E. Green-Lordeus, Anthony Tyrone Green and Helen Louise Green, preceded her in death, After sometime, she met and married Elder Robert Lee Johnson, bringing to this union five children. Elder Johnson, whom she called her friend, also preceded her in death. Being saved at an early age, she really loved the Lord and served him avidly as much and as long as she could. She served with her husband, Elder Robert Johnson, who was Pastor of the Holiness House of Worship; she was first lady and worked with the various auxiliaries in the church. After Elder Johnson stepped down as pastor, he became overseer and she served in the ministry of the Holiness House of Worship New Direction Ministries as Church mother under the leadership of Elder Kenneth L. Holmes. She was truly an example of what a mother should be. She trained her children in the way that they should go bringing them up in the church. Not only that, she had her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren around her, loving them and teaching them the way of the Lord. Her word to them was “serve the Lord children, do the right thing.’ In her earlier years she formed and organized the youth choir and each of her generations sang in her choir. She was proud of her choir and paraded them all around town singing Zion songs. Not only that, she herself loved to sing. Not only did she sing with her church choir, she sang in the Mt. Cavalry Baptist Church Choir of Pompano Beach, New Zion Primitive Baptist Church of Deerfield Beach and the Smiling Gospelettes of Pompano Beach, well known for their “Holy Stomp.” Her favorite song was “heaven Is My Goal.” Everywhere she went, she sang this song and would not stop singing until it was right and she felt it.
