Home Going Celebration for the Life of Mary A. Kelly-Pierre “Rev. Saint Mary” Sunrise- March 22, 1954- Sunset- August 17, 2017 Mary Asbury Kelly-Pierre was born Mary Delois Murray on March 22, 1954 to parents Mattie Lois and Robert “Buddy” Murray, Sr. in Montgomery County, Alabama. She was 1 of 11 children born to the Murray Family. At the age of 5, she was adopted and raised by Essie Mae and Booker T. Wilson in Pompano Beach, FL. She attended Charles Drew Elementary and graduated from Blanche Ely High School in 1970. On February 17, 1972, Mary gave birth to her first child, a daughter named Genise Asbury in Fort Lauderdale, FL. A hard worker, and independent woman, Mary instilled hard work in her eldest daughter and the 2 that would follow 20 years later. On November 21, 1988, Mary married Calvin Kelley, Sr. and settled in Deerfield Beach, FL. Of that marriage came the births of her last 2 children. Lacal Kelley, born September 7, 1992 and Lacarol Kelley, born March 24, 1994 in Coral Springs, FL. A loving, kind, and patient mother, Mary took to wisdom, prayer, and tough love to bring up her daughters the best way she could. A strong believer in the power of God, she instilled God-fearing values in those she loved. She loved her 3 children and 2 grandchildren, Lorenzo Tillman, Jr. Born April 17, 1992 and Clintiana McCutcheon, born March 7, 2007 to her eldest daughter. After 15 years of marriage, Mary and Calvin Kelley divorced in 2003. In 2004, Mary met her lifelong partner, Ludovic Pierre. On July 25, 2005, they were married and he took on the responsibility of father to her 2 youngest children. They settled in Fort Lauderdale, FL and joined Compassion of Jesus Christ Ministries, of Pompano Beach, FL, where she worshipped as a Licensed Ordained Minister. He would remain her other half for the remainder of her life. On August 17, 2017, God called Mary home to be with him. Her body and soul needed rest, and on that day, he declared her an angel of good faith. Her suffering here on earth was over and her work was done. She leaves behind to cherish her memories, a loving and devoted husband, Ludovic Pierre; 3 loving daughters, Genise Asbury, Lacal Kelley, and Lacarol Kelley; 2 special grandchildren, Lorenzo Tillman, Jr. and Clintiana McCutcheon; 2 loving sisters, Geneva Pickett and WillieMae Murray; 2 very special uncles, Marvin Pickett and Willie Grant Green; 2 very special aunts, Mildred Westbrook and Sadie Hewitt; 3 very special friends, Angela Lumsdon ,Emma Green, and Earl Harris; A Wonderful Pastor and First Lady, Derrick and Patricia Farrow; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends that will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by parents, Essie Mae and Booker T. Wilson, Mattie Lois and Robert Murray, Sr.; Sisters Mattie Murray and Emma Buchanan; Brother Robert Rainer; and Uncle Seger Pickett. She was a joy to all who knew her. A kind and gentle soul with a forgiving and loving nature, combined with wisdom and a sense of humor unlike any other. She will be truly missed. - Lacarol Kelley
