Obituary Time to Live & Learn On March 14th, 1980 a beautiful baby girl became the daughter of Maydon and Samuel Decatur Sr. (both predeceased). She was given the name Kizzy Decatur. When Kizzy was born, we all had the same hopes and dreams for her but realized there were complications. Her mother, grandmother, aunt Sherilene, and other relatives hurried to professionals hoping to find treatment. She had traditional therapies, non- traditional therapies, surgeries, evaluations, and experts of all kinds. Kizzy was diagnosed with cerebral palsy. Somewhere along the line we stopped trying to fix the child that we had expected and continued to love and enjoy the child that was. At an early age Kizzy attended Bright Horizon all age school and in 2001 Kizzy graduated as prom queen. Although Kizzy was non-verbal, she had the most contagious laugh that you’ll ever hear. She laughed at our jokes, loved her grandmother's singing voice as well as others singing to her, and appreciated and loved all her caretakers over the years. Kizzy enjoyed trips to the park with her caretakers, relatives and younger cousin. Every time it was time to return home from the park she would get upset once she realized she was heading back home. She loved being outdoors. She also loved music. The second she heard a beat to the song she began rocking and laughing with the biggest brightest smile on her face. Kizzy energy was unmatched and will be greatly missed. She resided with her loving grandmother Blanche Stubbs and her aunt Sherilene Stubbs. Time to die On afternoon of June 29th, 2023 the Lord called Kizzy home and she was giving her angel wings; We really think she was ready to be with her family.
