Jerry Gary

Jerry Gary Senior (Granddad) also known as Minister Gary. Deacon Gary was born on October 29, 1939, in Hawkinsville, Georgia to the late Mary Finley and Johnny Samuel Gary. He also had another mom, Matilda Gary JERRY Gary Sr. was joined in Holy Matrimony to the love of his life the late Lillie Pearl Jones on July 19, 1959, in Perry Georgia, in this union. They were blessed with seven children and one beautiful niece. JERRY accepted Yahweh in his life over 30 years ago, the same as our mother Lillie. He was a member of Love Outreach Ministry and later became a member of Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church, where he worshipped and served until, he became ill in 2023. Our Dad worked for over 35 years on not one but two jobs at the Pompano Beach Plaza, The Restaurant, and the gas station on the Florida Turnpike. He was in my opinion a chef and the best one that they ever had. Back 20 or so years ago when they had the breakfast buffet people would come from all over the area to eat his cooking, and it did not matter what they turn that kitchen into, he could cook any food including pizza. JERRY, did a lot of outreach ministry. He visited the sick, the shut in, and ministered to the homeless. He was invited to speak at several ministries. I had the opportunity of hearing my dad minister several times when I came home to visit. Dad was a wise and humble man. After, he married the love of his life and she moved to Florida, she got a job on the Turnpike working with him. She did not know how to drive at the time. Dad made arrangements for one of his coworkers to drop her off daily because he got off a little earlier than she did. One day his coworker intentionally left Mom at work leaving her stranded. She called Daddy to pick her up. He told her that he was going to teach her how to drive and he did just that and she was driving ever since. Jerry was proceeded in death by his lovely wife: Lillie Gary of 61 years, two children: Veronica Renate Gary and Cassandra Marie Gary, and one granddaughter: Stephanie Katilla Mack, sisters, Mildred Mosley, Joanne Nelson, Olathe Linton, and Doris Kaiser. He leaves to cherish his memories his three daughters and one niece, Evangeline Wilson (Jeffrey Sr.) of Yulee, Florida, Patricia Ann Kelly (Shawn) of Coral Springs, Florida, Gerry Dene Gary (Donnell) of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, his niece, Minnie Walker (Keith) of Salem, Oregon, who he raised as a daughter; sons: Jerry Gary, Jr. of Pompano Beach, Florida, and Steven Tyrone Gary (Sarah) of Pompano Beach, Florida, four sisters, Nelly Ann Newson, Johnny Mae Brooks, Priscilla Cato, Sheila Cobbs; one brother, Frank Gary; Jerry leaves to mourn 23 grandchildren, 47 Great grandchildren, many cousins, nieces and nephews all with great admiration and love for him and a host of friends, including Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church of Pompano Beach, Florida, Destiny Fulfilled Ministry of Fernandina Beach, Florida and Love Outreach Ministries of Hollywood, Florida
