Obituary- Veronica Pinkney Laura affectionately known as “Sista,” was born August 10, 1955, to the union of James and Luella Pinkney in Pompano Beach, Florida. Veronica was raised in a large family of eight siblings; the third oldest to this union. She received her formal education in the Broward Country Public School System; graduating from Coconut Creek High School where she exceled in her studies. She accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Full Gospel Church-Living God for over twenty-five years. She was a faithful servant and always eager to assist anyone she could. She loved to love on people. Her hands were rarely still. Veronica was a devoted wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, cousin and friend. She simply loved and would do anything for her family to ensure fairness, love, happiness and peace. She adored spending time with her grandchildren. They were her universe and she made sure they knew. Her life was a living example of one of her favorite Bible verses, “And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving on another, just as God also forgave you in Christ.”- Ephesians 4:32 Veronica Pinkney Laura was called to eternal rest on Saturday, December 7, 2019. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Jonas and Laura Pinkney, Allen Williams and Rosa Lee Battle Reeves; her father, James Pinkney; and her sister, Laverne Brayboy Howard. She leaves behind to cherish her precious memories: her husband, Paul Laura of Lauderhill, Florida; her mother, Luella Pinkney of Pompano Beach, Florida; one daughter, Ashley R. Campbell (Gregory) of Mandeville, Louisiana; three sons, Shanard M. Saxon (Rhonda), Shannon J. Williams, and John W. Wright of Pompano Beach, Florida; one sister, Patricia Pinkney of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; six brothers, Allen Dale Williams, Vincent Pinkney (Sonia), and Alexander Pinkney (Juarilyn) of Pompano Beach, Florida, James Pinkney, Christopher Pinkney Sr. (Tisha) and Patrick Pinkney (Deebra) of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; eight grandchildren, Shanard Maurice Saxon Jr., Sharrod Marquis Saxon, Jazmine Bass, Nicholas Glenn of Pompano Beach, Florida, Christopher Wright and Chrissla Johnson of Vallejo, California, John Willie Wright, Jr. of Fort Lauderdale, FL and Kiersten Veronica Campbell of Mandeville, Louisiana; one great-grandchild Azalea Naomi Williams of Pompano Beach, Florida; three special nieces, Tyqueese Howard and Taquilla Thomas of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, JaCole Pinkney of Pompano Beach, Florida; one special cousin, Kathy Wallace of Winter Park, Florida; two goddaughters, Carmelita Graham of Tallahassee, Florida, and Shakeera Hamilton of Margate, Florida; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
