Lula Jenkins Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Lula Mae Jenkins was born July 30, 1930 to the late Willie Mae Hankerson of Waynesboro, Georgia in Burke County. After a lengthy illness, on Thursday, November 26, 2020, (Thanksgiving Day) she departed this life at 1:30 p.m. in Broward Medical Center, Pompano Beach, Florida. Lula moved to Boca Raton, Florida in 1940. On June 5, 1948, she married Lenton Jenkins, Sr. From this union of love four children were born: Lenton Jenkins, Jr., Clayton L. Jenkins, Anthony B. Jenkins and Sheila D. Jenkins. In 1960, the family moved to Pompano Beach, Florida. Lula worked as a maid and was an Avon Sales Representative/District Manager for many years. She achieved several awards for outstanding sales. She was affectionately known as the “Avon Lady.” She served her Christian life as a member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in Boca Raton, Florida. Lula enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Lenton Jenkins, Sr. (husband), Anthony B. Jenkins (son), Sheral J. Jenkins (daughter –in-law), Hattie B. Davis and Mary Warren (sisters) preceded her in death. Lula leaves to morn her passing two sons and one daughter; Lenton Jenkins, Jr. (Judy) of Southfield, Michigan; Clayton L. Jenkins (Levolia) of Lauderdale Lakes, Florida, Sheila D. Jenkins-Croslin (Jesse-deceased) of Pompano Beach, Florida and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren, nephews, nieces and numerous other dear relatives and friends.
