Luella Pinkney

September 2, 1929 - April 11, 2020

On September 2, 1929 in Cochran, Georgia Luella Williams was born to the late Allen Williams and Rosa Lee Battle - Reeves. Luella was raised in Cochran, Georgia but in the early 50’s she and her mother made the move to Pompano Beach, Florida. It was in Pompano Beach, Florida where she met her future husband, the late Mr. James Milton Pinkney, they settled and lived out the rest of her life. Mrs. Luella Pinkney was aa firm believer in God. In the 1960’s she became a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Pompano Beach and remained a faithful member until the 1970’s. Throughout the years she has con- tinued her relationship with the Lord. Within their union they were blessed to have 10 children: Gregory, Laverne, and Veronica who preceded her in death. During her lifetime, Luella displayed strength and fortitude through her works within her family. Throughout the years Luella demonstrated her care and love for her family with acts of kindness, words of encouragement and wisdom-filled knowledge that can still be applied to their every day lives to this very day. On April 11, 2020, God whispered in Luella’s ear “Well done thy good and faithful servant.” In her passing she leaves to mourn: Allen Dale, Vincent (Sonia), Alexander (Juarilyn) of Pompano Beach, FL. James J. Christopher (Tisha), Patrick (Deebra), and Patricia of Fort Lauderdale, FL., on brother: Rev. James Lorick of New York; one sister: Adlene of St. Petersburg, FL (who preceded her in death). She also leaves to mourn 36 grandchildren, 58 great-grandchildren and 10 great great- grandchildren as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends near and far.
