February 4, 1973 - November 25, 2020
With profound sadness we announce the passing of Jennifer, a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend to all whose lives she touched, on November 25, 2020. She left us after a protracted battle with cancer in hospital in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She was born February 4, 1973, in Broward County, the daughter of Rhonda Brooks, and she died too soon in her 47th year. Prior to losing an eye in her fight against cancer in 2009, Jennifer was an energetic and committed medical technician. In the years after becoming disabled, she became a homemaker who committed her life and love to her husband of 33 years, raising her 7 children & 13 grandchildren, and helping care for her beloved mother-in-law Ernestine Hall. Jennifer was predeceased by her brother Jeremy Low, her grandmother Edna "Boots" Gately, and her furry friend Shasta, all of whom she is with once again. Survivors include her mother, Rhonda Brooks; husband, Stephen Vaughn, Sr.; daughters, Lakeisha, Stephanie, Ashley, & Jamie; sons Stephen Jr., Shane, & Slade; 13 loving grandkids; sisters, Jacy Low Hughey, Melyssa Low, & Valerie Low; various nieces and nephews; and her furry friend, Jetta. Jennifer requested to be buried in Lauderdale Memorial Park with her brother, Jeremy, who died in 1988. She will be cremated and her ashes will be inurned above her dearly beloved brother as was her wish. A reception will follow the funeral service on Sunday at the Vaughn Residence in Dania Beach, FL; all are welcome. The family of Jennifer would like to extend a thanks to L.C. Poitier Funeral Home for their assistance and generosity in making the services possible. We would also like to thank everyone who donated money, time, assistance, etc. to help make Jennifers passing one of remembrance and grace. Before she passed, Jennifer asked that we celebrate her life rather than mourn her passing. It is her family's hope that everyone takes Jennifer's request to heart and shares a happy memory of your time with her in the memorial area during the viewing.
