The Remarkable Life and Times of The Memorial Service JANIE PEARL WILLIAMS LAWSON Elder Timothy Sally, Officiating Sunrise: July 7, 1947 ~ Sunset: November 23, 2021 “To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.” Ecclesiastes 3:1 THE CONGREGATION HYMN It was a delightful day in Pompano Beach, FL when God delivered the first daughter of James Aaron Williams, Sr. and Pearlean Williams. From that day forward many memorable events and touching episodes filled the pages of the life story of JANIE PEARL WILLIAMS LAWSON. She was the second of ten (10) children. Living in a God-fearing household, Janie was raised with an understanding of God and His infinite love and to acknowledge Him as her Lord and Savior. Her faith in God helped navigate her through life with the confidence that as long as she took hold of His hand, she will prevail against any obstacle. THE PROCESSIONAL THE INVOCATION Growing up in Pompano Beach was great! She attended the public schools in Pompano Beach and graduated with honors from Blanche Ely High School in 1964. Along with her mother and siblings, Janie attended and later joined Church of God in Christ No. 2 (now Thomas Temple Church of God in Christ) under the leadership of Elder Charlie Thomas and after his demise, Superintendent Robert L. Robinson. While there she sang in Choir No. 3 under the direction of her mother. Janie was sometimes reluctant to sing, but eventually became a lead singer. Janie enjoyed being engaged in life and took great pleasure from the company of family and friends, cooking and eating, rich conversations and inquiring into the activities of people around her. Janie was employed by BellSouth and she worked for them in the states of Connecticut and Florida; and finally retired after twenty-five years. While in Connecticut, she met and married Lawrence Lawson, Sr. who preceded her in death. On Tuesday, November 23, 2021, Janie answered the clarion call and departed this life. Her purpose, however, will continue through the lives of those she impacted with love, laughter, advice, service and her magnetic personality. She leaves to carry on her memory her sons: Lawrence G. Lawson, Jr. and Kegan G. Lawson; her only grandchild: Jalen B. Lawson. Her siblings: Earthell Williams, Herbert Williams, Patricia Phillips and Phyllis (Vincent) Robinson will also miss her presence. Likewise to mourn her absence is a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Memories will also linger in the hearts of her Aunts: Johnnette Foreman and Sarah Hayward; her Uncles: Sammie Lee and Robert Williams and a host of many sorrowing friends.
