THE HEART OF HATTIE Hattie Bell Cooper was born in Lake City, South Carolina on September 24 (according to the Midwife’s records September 23), to the parents of the late Mr. and Mrs. Dave (David) and Mary Cain. She attended Elementary and Middle Schools in her birth town Lake City, SC and in her mid teenage years, the love of her life, deceased David Cooper, Sr., did as the bible said, “He that findeth himself a wife, findeth a good thing.” So Mr. Cooper did just what the Bible said and made her his wife. Thereafter they embraced the precious gift of parenting and moved their family to Deerfield Beach, FL. She was an employee at Kennesaw Fruit and Juice Company, she returned to school and obtained her G.E.D. and continued to further her education becoming a proud and successful graduate of a former Broward Community College now Broward Community University Nursing Program, obtaining her L.P.N. Degree. Immediately upon the completion of that program she worked as a Private Duty Caregiver for a prominent family in Lighthouse Point. Her confession of receiving the Lord Jesus Christ took place at a very young age under the Guidance of her parents and Leadership of Pastor Elder Early Singletary at Mount Carmel Holiness Church in Cades, South Carolina. She offered her gifts of Hospitability and Serving as a Community Volunteer at Deerfield Beach Thrift Shop, North East Focal Point Center, Saint Ambrose Thrift Shop all located in Deerfield Beach FL, Holy Cross Thrift Shop located in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Hattie was affectionally called by her family, Coop, Mom, The General, Ma, Mama, Jo-mama, Grandma Sugar Pooh, Sis, Aunt Hattie Bell, last but not least Mrs. Cooper. Her place of Living became a Family Stop and Shop Place for her children and grandchildren for truly whatever she had they could have it too. In the words of Hattie her home was often called a Counseling Center, a Day Care, a Hospital and a Nursing Home. She was well known for her God given abilities to encourage others by sharing her wisdom (somehow/someway she knew the right words to say). Everyone who encountered Hattie knew right away that meeting her was a divine appointment due to the history of many testimonies others shared with her family there was clear evidence of how she expressed her love and gifts from God with them rather through words of encouragement, emotional, mental, and or financial support, laughter, songs, and wisdom. Throughout Hattie’s life journey she received in her heart many children and grandchildren that she did not biologically conceive. She is preceded in death by her husband David Cooper, Sr., Two sons David Cooper, Jr; Daniel Cooper; One Son–in–law Reverend Vincent McKeever and Grandson Bobby Cooper, Jr. Hattie Bell Cooper leaves to mourn an amazing Daughter Jane McKeever, Two Loving Sons Bobby (Juliet) Cooper and Joesph (Marie) Cooper. Brother Willie James (Christine) Cain, Sister Florence Graham, Brother-in-law John (Mattie) Cooper, Two Sister-in-laws Laura (Joesph) Howard, Annie Major (most Like a sister) God Daughter Lureatha Robinson, Like a Daughter Delores Metts, Like a Son Leon (Sharon) Jackson, Six Grandchildren Jamie (Danielle Moncur) Baldwin, Craig (Latasha) Baldwin, Melissa Brooks Cooper, Vediesha Brooks, Deiondre Cooper, Romana Reynolds, Jennifer Johnson, Jakeya Morton and Tamika Baldwin. 27 Great Grandchildren and 15 Great Great Grandchildren. A host of nephews, nieces, cousins, friends, and loved ones.... Faithful and Sincere neighbors Mr. Bernard & Mrs. Josie Adams and their entire family, Betty Gowdy, Frank (Linda) Gowdy, Caring Cousin Johhny Hannah; two dedicated loved ones in times of need Janet Kearse and Quentin Farrington.
