Gwendolyn Faye-Scott Flowers Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Gwendolyn Faye Scott was born on September 23, 1957 in Jefferson County, Louisville GA to the late Columbus Scott Jr and Lillie Beatrice (Brown) Scott. She is (was) the 1st of seven children. In 1960, the Scott Family moved to Pompano Beach, Fl. where they became members of the Greater Antioch Missionary Baptist Church soon thereafter. Once joining the church Gwen became a member of the Youth Usher Board, Red Circle, BTU and the Sunshine Band. Gwen attended the following schools, Sanders Park Elementary School, Rickards Middle School and Pompano Beach Senior High School, graduating in 1975. In 1979 she married Mack C Flowers and they had three children together Candice Monique, Mack Curtis and Andrew Courtland Flowers. After their marriage dissolved in 1987, she had another son Aaron Christopher Glasco. She also assisted with raising Terrence Holloway, a best friend of her son Curtis. Gwen was a hardworking and devoted mother, sister, cousin and friend. Before her health began to deteriorate, she worked as a Pharmacy Technician at Freddy’s Pharmacy, Customer Service at K-Mart then Prep cook at Piccadilly’s Cafeteria. Gwen was the neighborhood mom. She took in and fed many children that were not hers and she would help anyone she could. The past ten 10 years was really difficult for her as her health began to decline. She stayed in good spirits until God called her home on October 31st at 6:10 am. Finally, there was no more pain and suffering. Gwen is preceded in death by her parents Columbus and Lillie Scott and Brother Christopher (Sonny) Scott. Left to cherish her memory are her children Candice, Curtis, Andrew, Aaron and Terrence; Grandchildren: Destany, DeVonte, DaShaun, Khloe, Jaymari, Alphonso, Jakhia and Shanard; Life Partner Thomas Glasco; Brothers: Sherman, Ken, Marchell, Bo, Darrell (Ryelanda), Donald (Jocelyn) and Terance; Sisters: Brenda and Jacqueline; Aunt Margret & Uncle Sherman Goddaughters: Tameika, Mikelai and Fontianna; Godsons: Stanley, Chris and Anthony; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
