Connie Patricia Oliver
May 14, 1955 - March 2, 2022
Pastor Connie Oliver is a native of South Florida. She was born and raised in Pompano Beach, Florida to the proud parents late Jule and Josephine Thompson on May 14, 1955. Her mother brought her up in the fear and the admonition of the Lord. She was educated through the Broward County School System. At the age of eighteen Pastor Oliver accepted the Lord as her personal savior and joined Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church where she was a faithful member and diligent worker. She brought up her children in the Baptist faith, teaching them to love, respect and honor the Lord with all their hearts. She served as Church Secretary, Choir Member, Sunday School Teacher, Church Announcer, Financial Secretary, Youth Department Director, Deaconess and Evangelist. In April 2002, after twenty-nine years of dedicated service the church went through a time of difficulty and transition. It was during this time of transition that the Lord led then Evangelist Connie Oliver to visit the ACOJ New Life & Deliverance Ministries. The Lord then spoke to her and told her to make New Life her new home. The doors of the church were opened, and Evangelist Oliver joined the church. This was the beginning of her Apostolic walk. She was faithful, loyal and dedicated member ever since. She proved herself as a true servant by her committed service to the church, to Apostle Alex Jenkins, and to Pastor Latrina Jenkins. Pastor Oliver served as an Usher, Hospitality Member, Youth Christian Educator, Vacation Bible School Coordinator & Instructor, Missionary Department President, Sick and Benevolent Coordinator and Women’s Department President. She also served as one of the Moderators of New Life, Overseer of the Women’s and Missionary Departments, Financial Secretary and Church Mother. Pastor Oliver enjoyed reading a good book, writing poetry, and traveling. She worked as a Teacher Assistant for the Broward County Schools System and was a Certified CDA. She loved the Lord with all her heart, mind, and soul. Her greatest desire was to be a humble servant and please the Lord in all that she did. On Wednesday, March 2, 2022, Pastor Connie Oliver transitioned from labor to reward. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Marshonda Oliver Pouncy.
