Zacharie Leo

Zacharie Leo, 82, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on June 30, 1942, in Cap-Haïtien, Haiti, to Philomise and Derillon Leo, Zacharie lived a life marked by resilience, devotion, and love. In 1962, he set out on a journey that would define his legacy, leaving home to build a better future. After settling in the Bahamas, he eventually moved to the United States in 1976, where he built a life filled with purpose and faith. A professional baker for over 50 years, Zacharie was a master of his craft. His kitchen was filled not only with the aroma of fresh bread and pastries but also with laughter and warmth. He found great joy in sharing his creations with others, often using his skills to bring people together. In 1989, Zacharie met the love of his life, Georgette Pierre, while raising his sons as a devoted single father. Their marriage became a beacon of love, faith, and happiness, and together they created a home where family always came first. Zacharie’s life was centered around his faith, his family, and his community. A strong-willed and determined man, he allowed his faith in Christ to guide him through every challenge and triumph. His sense of humor, love for gospel music, and passion for attending church reflected his unshakable joy in the Lord. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Georgette; sons Phelome, John, James, Bernadin, and Franse; daughters Linda, Milande, and Junette; 27 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Numerous nieces and nephews hold him close in their hearts, along with extended members of the Jean Nicole Pierre Family, Luna Williams Family, Edaline Vincent Family, Nelson Desamours Family, Nerestant Family, Herta Brutus Family, and treasured friends from Pastor Abdias and Temple Adventiste De Deerfield Beach Church. Zacharie’s family was his pride and joy, and he often said that his children gave him strength during life’s most difficult moments. Zacharie was preceded in death by his siblings Sirius, Cedelia, Idilene and Joachin ;who all made a great impact on his life. A man of great faith, love, and laughter, Zacharie Leo will be remembered for his unwavering devotion to his family and his steadfast belief in God. His memory will continue to inspire and guide those who knew and loved him.
