William Orange

On November 8, 2024, William Henry Orange of Deltona, FL completed his journey in life and was called to a peaceful rest. He was born to the late Annie Lee Derico Orange and Clarence Orange Jr. in Meigs, GA on December 05, 1946. Four brothers, Willie Derico, John Arthur Orange, James Henry Orange and Bobby Lee Orange, three sisters, Ian Orange, Delores Brown and Linda Welch and one son, Micah J. Orange preceded him in death. William Henry Orange graduated from Blanche Ely High School in Pompano Beach, FL in 1966. He then went on to Essex County College in Newark, NJ to pursue a career in information technology for two years but decided on a 30 plus year career with the United States Postal Service. "Big Dawg", as he was affectionately called, lived life on his terms. He owned every room he walked in and left a mark upon each exit with a smile. There was always a smile on his face and love in his heart. The world was brighter by his existence and his smile will forever light up the universe. As his niece described him, "His love was infectious and genuine, it felt like a bowl of soup on a cold day". Big Dawg was a simple man who loved his sports, western movies, current events, history and especially his FAMILY and FRIENDS. His love for FAMILY AND FRIENDS was unmatched. He always offered them friendship, love, guidance, laughter and wisdom. Big Dawg leaves to cherish his memory, Gloria Orange (wife) from Welford, SC; one son: William J. Orange of Daytona Beach, FL; and one daughter: Tanesha J. Orange of Jacksonville, FL.; eight precious grand-children: Mikayla Harper of Columbia, SC, Keyvan Smith of Columbia, SC, Malichi Smith of Columbia, SC, Anessa Wooley of Columbia, SC, Andew Stroman of Columbia, SC, Na'Siah Orange of Columbia, SC, Cameron Lismore of Lithonia, GA, Karisma Orange of Conyers, GA; two brothers: Joseph Orange of Albany, GA and Jimmie L. Orange (Lois) of Columbia, SC; five sisters: Dorothy Orange of Tamarac, FL, Annie Joyce Miller of Ringold, GA, Diane Newton (Charles) of Chattanooga, TN, Mary Summers of Pompano Beach FL and Queen Benjamin - Orange of Rocksprings, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends who loved him immensely.
