Life Reflections Celebrating the Life of Shirley Faye Jackson Russell 1941-2022 And what does the Lord require of you, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and walk humbly with God. Micah 6:8 The earthly life of Shirley Faye Jackson Russell began on April 10, 1941 to the parentage of the late Manning Jackson and Bessie Nesbitt Jackson in Vidalia, Georgia. She was the first of 10 chil- dren. At an early age she joined Piney Green Baptist Church where she also attended grade school during the week and Sunday School on Sunday mornings. Shirley graduated from Lyons Industrial High School. Later she relocated to Pompano Beach, Florida and joined Bethel AME Church. She attended classes at Sheridan Vocational Center Administration where she met the requirements that certified her for employment with Bendix Avionics as a QualityAssembler Inspector. Shirley was joined in holy matrimony to her sweetheart, Douglas Russell, Jr. in 1963 and to their union their only son, Chipman Douglas Russell was born. Later she moved her membership to Royal Assembly Church of the Living God with her husband Douglas Russell under the leadership of Bishop W.L. Williams, founder. Shirley’s hobbies included making delicious desserts and old- fashioned country cooking. On special occasions or any approaching holidays she would give her husband a shopping list, sometimes weeks prior to the occasion so she could get a early start planning a delicious feast for her family. The best and most important in enjoyment for Shirley was to watch everyone eat, rejoice and indulge in laughter as it was always a blessing to come together in unity. God in his infinite wisdom called Shirley Faye Jackson Russell home to eternal rest early Wednesday morning, September 14, 2022. She is preceded and death by two sisters Alice Broomfield and Helen Jones; three brothers Sammy T. Jackson, L.T. Jackson and Milton Jackson. She leaves to cherish her memories her husband of 59 years, Douglas Russell Jr; one son, Chipman Douglas Russell; three sisters, Doretha, Viola, Barbara; one brother, Adrian (Sarah) Jackson. Her cherished memories also include her grandchildren, great grand children, nieces, nephews, in-laws, cousins and a host of other relatives, friends, neighbors, acquaintances and church members.
