Reba Denell Clayton

Reba Denell Clayton was born on a hot summer day in Pompano Beach, Florida on June 26, 1952. She was born to the parentage of the late Willie Lee Clayton Sr. and the late Elizabeth Graham Clayton. Reba attended Coleman Elementary, Charles Drew Elementary, and Blanche Ely High wherein she met and fell in love with Mr. Donell Gray and to that relation- ship her only daughter was born; Terryl Genise “Nikki” Gray. Reba completed her education at Job Corps in Portland Springs, Maine; Wherein she received her GED. While in Portland Spring, Maine she met, Mr. Wayne Madden and she relocated back to Pompano Beach, Florida, wherein she bore her only son, Keefer Fernando Clayton. Reba enjoyed cooking, gardening, beautifying her yard, collage making, enter- taining, and had a special interest in the elderly and people in need. Reba reverenced the Lord. Reba utilized her certifications that she acquired in Job Corbs to gain employ- ment as an unit coordinator at Northwest Medical Center and North Broward Medical Center, until her health suddenly declined wherein; she became disabled and retired. Reba felt that she was not fulfilling her passion. Reba became a volunteer for focal point and part-time worker for impact of Broward, assisting and companionship for the elderly and helping anyone and everyone in need. At an early age Reba received her spiritual enlighting in the tent which later became House of God #2 under the leadership of her Grandfather, Rev. Ernest E. Graham. Reba was a member of the choir and Pompano #2 “Grahamettes, as Reba became older yet having her own personal zest for the Lord. Reba visited many churches. She had a love for T.D. Jakes and Joel Osteen. Until her health failed her once again. On a cool brisk Monday afternoon at 4:18 PM on November 27, 2017; Reba made her peace with God, she earned her wings. She departed this O’le earthly life peacefully from her residence in Pompano Beach, Florida to her heavenly eternal life. She is gone but never to be forgotten. She leaves to cherish her memories, one daugh- ter; Terryl Genise “Nikki” Gray, (Father-Donell Gray) of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. One son; Keefer “Kee” Fernando Clayton of Pompano Beach, Florida and her best friend Cozzi. One granddaughter, Kayla F. Clayton of Virginia. Three brothers; Lee M. Clayton Willie Clayton, and Willie “Billy” Clayton Jr. all of Pompano Beach, Florida. Two sisters; Erma R. “Diney” Clayton of Pompano Beach and Althea L. “Vet” Clayton Etheridge, one brother-in-law Allen Etheridge of Eastman, Georgia two aunts (our mother figure) Eddye Mae Graham of Pompano Beach, Florida, Betty Schols of Tallahasee, Florida. Nine nephews and six nieces; Davionne Longman of Atlanta, Georgia, Victor (Carolyn) of Newburg, New York, Krystal Clayton (Sanwan) Williams of Miami Garden, Florida, Alton T. (Melissa) Clayton of North Lauderdale, Florida, Aaron (Marlene) Clayton, Alan Clayton, Kieara Dawson, Alex Etheridge, Kavoris Clayton, Rashaun Clayton and Derrick Clayton Williams all of Pompano Beach, Florida. Seven grand nephews and three grand nieces; Jasmine Clayton, Victor Clayton Jr., Tori Ann Clayton, Donovan Clayton of New Burg, New York, Braylan Williams of Miami Gardens, Florida, Sariyah Clayton of N. Lauderdale, Florida and Sophia Clayton, Karina Clayton, Kountess Clayton, and Kaitlin Clayton. All of Pompano Beach, Florida. One great-grand niece; Melanie Clayton of Newburg, New York. A host of cousins, and sorrowing friends too numer- ous to name however, Reba held them dear to her heart. Preceded her in death: Her grandparents; Rev. Ernest and Effie M. Graham and Willie J. and Lucinda Clayton her parents; Willie L. and Elizabeth Clayton. Three uncles and three aunts; Arthur Clayton, Maudell Carter, Everge “Bro” Graham (Elizabeth), Ernestine (Cornelius) Rolle, cousins and friends.
