Pamela Denise Johnson

Obituary Pamela Denise Miller was born February 1, 1957. She was the only child of the late Barbara Jenkins of Pompano Beach, FL. Pam graduated from Northeast Senior High School in 1975. She was a devoted, God-fearing woman who became a dedicated member of Bennett’s Temple Church of the Lord Jesus, where she joined the choir in early adult life. After high school she had her oldest child and only daughter Amy. Soon after, she married and from that union had her sons, Timothy, and John, affectionately referred to as “Tony”. Throughout her life, Pam worked in different professions. Pamela enjoyed working at Motorola as an electronic technician, but also earned her licensures in cosmetology and as a nurse’s aide. One of Pamela’s greatest gratifications was her never-ending devotedness to her children. While raising her kids, she took tremendous pleasure in taking them to the movies (her favorite was Westerns), amusement parks, and beaches. Second to that, was the delight Pamela had in spending time with her grandchildren. They were the light in her eyes and the reason, many times, for the infectious smile she shared in her later years. Family meant everything to Pamela and was the reason she fought so hard to continue to live after being diagnosed with cancer. You could often hear her saying “PPP” “Push Pass the Pain” Pamela. Her diagnosis did not stop her from traveling. Pamela would visit with her daughter in Atlanta, her son in Orlando or cousins in North Carolina. While in the toughest battle, Pamela would always show love and affection to her family and friends. She was definitely a fighter and showed cancer it would never steal her joy! Pamela demonstrated humbleness, kindheartedness, meekness, altruism, and frankness. She was an extraordinary mother, grandmother, daughter, aunt, cousin, godmother, and friend. She truly loved with ALL her heart! Pamela was preceded in death by her loving parents: Barbara and Grady Jenkins and brother, Jerome S. Smith. She leaves behind her sister Felicia Lewton, her three adoring and devoted children: Amy Dennis (Kenneth), Timothy James, and John “Tony” James (Tiffany), 12 grandchildren (Timia, Cailin, Keldrin, Kadrin, John II, Jaylinn, Ariel, Alexandria, Mia, Jamir, Jaden, and Jamari), and a host of family and friends.
