Marie Claude Joseph

On January 2, 1946, Jules Joseph and Elicianne Norevil welcomed their daughter, Marie Claude Joseph, into the world she was born in the Nippes Department of Haiti, in the beautiful coastal town of Anse-à-Veau. When Marie Claude was six years old, her family relocated to the island’s capital of Port-au-Prince where she would establish deep roots and spend much of her life. From an early age, Marie Claude a ectionately known as “Marie Loudes” or simply “Loudes” - possessed a nurturing spirit and generous heart – As the eldest of her siblings she exhibited innate maternal instincts, naturally stepping into a caregiving role, watching over others with a selfless heart. Marie Claude’s love was actionable, and her dedication to her family knew no bounds; to help support them she discontinued her formal education and begin working a variety of jobs including a factory position crafting purses. No matter the role Marie Claude was always working to uplift and provide for her loved ones. Eventually, that giving disposition found its perfect home when she opened her own restaurant. There she did what she loved most: cooking for others and nourishing her community. Through ever meal she prepared, she shared not only food, but also warmth, comfort and love. In the early 1960’s Marie Claude met Able Brun and together they welcomed three children. Her greatest and most beautiful role was at home where her children fondly described her as being the best mother. As her children grew and begin families of their own Marie Claude filled her days traveling between the United States and Haiti, intentionally creating everlasting memories with those she loved. Following the devasting 2010 Haiti earthquake, she made the permanent move to the United States, where she lived peacefully, surrounded by family and close friends, until her final days. Marie Claude Joseph is remembered as a staple in her community and the beloved matriarch of her family. A simple yet wonderful woman who found absolute joy in life’s everyday moments: preparing a warm meal, listening to her favorite music, watching her favorite movies (Shrek and Home Alone) and catching up on the latest happenings with her sisters and dear friends. She was the rock of her family, constantly pouring her love, wisdom and guidance into the younger generation. Marie Claude lived with unwavering kindness and her reputation of generosity and compassion preceded her wherever she went. Her entire life was an act of service to those she loved. She was a steadfast friend, devoted mother and a source of comfort and strength to all who knew her. On June 15, 2026, surrounded by her loving family Marie Claude Joseph was peacefully called home to be with her Lord and Savior. Though she is deeply missed, her legacy of faith, love, sacrifice and generosity will continue to live on through the countless lives she touched. Forever loved, forever remembered and forever in our hearts. Marie Claude leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory. She is survived by her siblings: Marcel Joseph, Julio Joseph, Resia (Joseph) Lapin, Mila Joseph, Mimose Joseph, Simone Joseph, Gisele Joseph She is also survived by her beloved children: Sabin Brun, Ahkard Brun and Alta (Brun) Blanc Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren: Ashley Brun, Asheline Brun, Iyvens Brun, Tomson Blanc and Ketia Blanc, each of whom brought immense joy and pride to her life. She is also lovingly remembered by her many nieces and nephews, all of whom held a special place in her heart. She is further survived by her cherished in-Laws: Tony Blanc, Hugue Lapin, Friznold Pierre and Anna Xina Jean-Jacques Blanc, along with many extended relatives, friends and loved ones whose lives were enriched by her kindness, wisdom and unwavering love.
