Maranda McLendon

HER LIFE Affectionally known as “MeMe” was born to the parentage of Charlie Lee Johnson, Jr. and Marlena McLendon on March 20, 1995. Since her birth, Maranda “MeMe” has always possessed a friendly personality and was loved by her family, friends and everyone she encountered from childhood to adulthood. She was known to always wear a smile and a spirit of sunshine. Maranda “MeMe” grew up in Deerfield Beach, Florida and attended Broward County Public Schools from Elementary to High School. She was admired and loved dearly for her friendly yet bashful personality. To know her was to love her quiet and sweet character that she possessed. MeMe had a passion for hobbies of arts and crafts, hair, fashion children, and cats. Her favorite time to pass was always with the one she held dear to her heart, her mother, Marlena. In the time of family events, you could find MeMe with her mother, sitting in her car perfecting and pampering her looks of hair, eyebrows and eyelashes before greeting her family and friends. As MeMe began to experience life, she embarked upon the most endearing moments of her life when she bore her only son, Dy’mir Legend Ross in the year of 2015 with father Dymond Ross. Her heart grew even fonder of children and now Meme had one to call her own. She cherished and loved him dearly as he continued to grow. Never did the two of them leave their sight along with her mother, Marlena. The three of them were the perfect trio sharing, living and loving in each other’s lives. Throughout her life, she has always had a resilient spirit to fight any challenges that came her way. Despite any situations she faced, Meme continued to smile and laugh through the pain of life. As the years passed and life for her began to unfold, Meme continued to push pass her mental and physical pain that she no longer could endure. On Sunday morning, January 12, 2025, she answered the call to God and transitioned from this earthly realm into God’s loving arms. HER PRECIOUS MEMORIES Her precious memories are left to those she cherished the most: four brothers, Alvin Berrian Jr., Bryan McLendon, Johnathan Blade (deceased), John Wayne (deceased); two grandmothers, Lillie Ruth Spivey, Flo Johnson; two great grandmothers: Lora Lee McLendon, Sallie Wilkins (deceased); six aunts, Sheri Gordon (Ronderick, deceased), Karen Flintroy, Lariann Green, Marlene Boyd-Johnson, Karen Wilkins, Katrinka Johnson; two great aunts: Grace (Jimmy) Fitz, Bert (James) Wallace, four uncles: Willie Wilkins, Bobby, Anthony, and Terry Johnson; three nieces: Brinaya McLendon, Brinaisha McLendon, Samorah McLendon; two nephews: Gerard McLendon, Malachi McLendon; and great nephew Braylen Mclendon, a special cousin LaTasha Flintroy, & a host of other cousins, other relatives & friends.
