Leola Millner

Deacon Leola Millner was the eldest of ten children born to Mother Penny Lee and Elder Benjamin J. McCormick , on April 8, 1935, in Belle Glade, Florida. On January 11, 2023, the Lord called Leola home to take her rest with Him. Leola was educated in the Pompano Beach Public School System where she graduated high school in 1955. In 1960. She met and married the love of her life Frank Miller and moved with him to Phila, PA. Leola worked various positions at St Luke’s Hospital and the Community College of Philadelphia during her work tenure until she decided to be a homemaker and start her family with Frank. To their union, seven children were born. Leola absolutely loved her family and it showed in everything that she did, especially in her cooking. She loved to cook and was a master at desserts. She also loved to sew and make clothes for herself and her children. Leola’s spiritual walk started at a young age. She accepted the Lord as her Savior and received the baptism of the Holy Ghost in 1948, at age 13. As she flourished in her journey with Jesus, she became a strong supporter of the church where her father pastored- the Church Of The Living God, Keith Dominion there she sang on the choir and ministered. Upon her move to Philadelphia Leola transitioned her mem- bership to House of God, Church of the Living God- Band #1 under the leadership of Bishop N. Randall. Following God’s call, Leola was anointed Deacon in the 1960”s where she served diligently alongside her husband Elder Frank Millner. She was later appointed as the Superintendent of the Sunday School in the 1990’s where she served until 2014. Leola lived her life in service to the Lord, her family and all who loved her. Leola is preceded in death by her husband -Frank, daughters- Lanetra and Vernay, Siblings- Samuel, Joseph, Benjamin, Isaac, Charles, Deloris, Pansy and Virgie. She leaves to cherish her memory: her children- Michael (Belinda), Michelle (Dwight), Bryant, Frank, and Tameya; 15 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren; one brother- James McCormick; 5 sisters-in-Law- Queen, Althea, Clara, Deborah and Joyce who was also her very best friend; A host of niece, nephews, family and friends.
