Larry Kaigler Medlock

Larry Kaigler Medlock, Sr. was born on December 6, 1952, in Millen, Georgia, to the late Robert and Elizabeth Medlock. At an early age, Larry accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at Dukes Temple in Hollywood, Florida. He later continued his walk and fellowship at Sword of Power Ministry. Larry received his education in Hollywood, Florida, and graduated from Hollywood Hills High School in 1971. Following graduation, he answered the call to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Air Force. He proudly served for approximately one year before receiving a medical discharge due to health concerns. In 2003, Larry found the love of his life and married Diane Docher Medlock. Their marriage was built on love, companionship, and unwavering commitment until his passing. Although Larry and Diane had no children together, Diane lovingly embraced Larry’s children as her own, creating a close and loving family. Larry was a proud father of six sons and one daughter: Larry Medlock Jr. Christopher Sherrod, Derrick Willingham, Devon Georgia, Amon Medlock, Demarcus Hough, and Latonya Howard. His greatest joy came from spending time with his family and watching it continue to grow through the generations. On Tuesday, July 28, Larry Kaigler Medlock, Sr. peacefully transitioned from labor to reward. He leaves to cherish his precious memory: his beloved wife, Diane Medlock; his children; Larry Medlock Jr. Christopher Sherrod, Derrick Willingham, Devon Georgia, Amon Medlock, Demarcus Hough, and Latonya Howard, and 38 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. One brother Robert “Donnie” Medlock (Ruth); his brothers-in-law, Benjamin Docher and Gene Docher; his sisters-in-law, Janice Neeley, June Docher, Mary Cochran (“Greg”), and Betty Reed; Frances Medlock, Cynthia Medlock, Aunt Rose Mallory; uncle: Albert Kailee (Lottie); a special niece Kenyatta Medlock “Pepa Head” along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elizabeth and Robert Medlock; sister: Jade Brennan; his brothers, Rufus Medlock and Gerald Medlock; and his beloved grandson, Larry Medlock III. Larry’s life was a testament to perseverance, love, and devotion to his family. His warm smile, caring heart, and gentle spirit touched countless lives. He will be remembered for his quiet strength, his willingness to help others, and the unconditional love he gave to his family and friends. Though he may no longer walk among us, his love, wisdom, and memories will continue to guide those who were blessed to know him.
