Judy Campbell Paulk

A Life Well Lived Judy Carolyn Campbell was the fourth of ten children of Benston and Barbara Campbell. She was born October 31, 1956 in Fairmont, NC., and completed her primary education in Fairmont before moving to Pompano Beach. She graduated from Pompano Beach High Senior School in 1975. Upon graduation from high school, Judy attended Kentucky State University. After college, she gave birth to her two sons: Christopher and Jason Black. Judy truly enjoyed being a mother and lovingly raised her boys to become men, instilling in them Christian values and life skills. In addition to being a mother, she enjoyed cooking for the family, traveling, and spending time with her friends, and her favorite football team was the Dallas Cowboys. Judy was baptized into Christ at the 15th Street Church of Christ and was an active member of the congregation. She was an enthusiastic Bible School teacher who did her best to ensure that the children in her classes understood God’s word. She served on various ministries and loved her church family. She loved gospel singing, counseling the youth, and her selflessness extended as a “mother” to a host of family friends, and she became known as “Auntie Judy” to countless young men in the Adimu Men of Excellence organization. On March 29, 2003, Mr. Clarence Paulk and Judy were united in marriage. She was blessed to be a great wife in their 20 years of marriage. In addition to her role as a wife, Judy was very talented business-woman. She was a certified in-home caregiver and had a passion for caring for the elderly and those who needed her assistance. She was also an educator, and worked as teacher at Upper Room Christian Academy for several years and within Broward County Schools Judy’s strong faith in God, her knowledge of the scriptures, and the family love that surrounded her helped to sustain her as she endured her battle with cancer. On Wednesday, September 20, 2023, Judy transitioned from this life. Those left with cherished memories are: Clarence Paulk (Husband); Sons – Christopher and Jason Black; one daughter-in-law Nina Black; one grandson – Corey Goldsby Jr aka. “CJ”; three sisters – Debra Campbell, Doniesa Baldwin, Lynette Facey; five brothers – Benston Jr. (Diane), Jeffrey, Mitchell, Timothy, and Brian Anthony; one uncle – David Thompson, High Point, NC; one aunt – Vivian Perkins, Lumberton, NC; a favorite Cousin-Sister – Wanda (Larry) Evans, Lumberton, NC; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, church family, and many friends. Judy was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Ronald Wayne Campbell, and her brother-in-law, Wilbert Baldwin.
