Genius McArthur Dexter

A Time to Be Born Mr. Genius McArthur Dexter was born September 27, 1967, in Pompano Beach, Florida to the parents of Genius Dexter and Annie Pearl Thurston. A Time for Learning He attended Markham Elementary School and Pompano Beach High School. Mike was a very great student in MATH and would cause problems with other students who were trying to comprehend the problem. He also loved playing basketball and was a Dolphin Fan. Whenever the Dolphins played, he would say "win or lose I am still a Dolphin fan." The last game he said, "we will back next year stronger." A Time to Rejoice At an early age he obeyed the gospel and became a member of the 15th Street Church of Christ. During his early years he would serve around the communion table along with his other brothers. Many times, at home he and his siblings would go over the order of worship. One Sunday in Bible Study his teach Sis. Braggs left the room for a moment and Mike locked her outside the classroom. A time of Remembrance Mike enjoyed writing songs I tried to get him to record them, but he did not follow his dream. After some struggles in his life his health began to fail him, and he was never the same. He enjoyed playing dominos with his friend on 16th Ave. in the afternoons, he was also a member of the Senior Activity Center on MLK Blvd. where he would go into the recreation are to exercise. A Time for Rest However, on February 4, 2024, Mike had a wonderful time in wordship service and on our way home with laughter he said to his mother " be safe I love you and I will call you latter." He never called On February 6; the death Angel called him home. A Time to Look Back Those that preceded him death, his father's Genius Dexter, Theodus Thurston. Sister: Janicey Dexter Hallman, Brother Clifford Dexter, Grandmother Lucinda Parrish whom he loved so much. A Time to Mourn Those left to cherish his memories: his son Jaquan Hudson; Mother Annie Pearl Thurston, brothers Tyrus Dexter, Dennis Thurston, Theodus Thurston, Jr., Patrick Thurston and adopted brother Eddie James, two granddaughters, sister: Debra Thurston and Beverly Thurston, uncles: Kenny Thurston (Vickie), Larry Thurston (Josephine), Henry Thurston (Muriel). Aunts: Alice Page, Maebell Thurston, Darlene Thurston, Joyce McGirt, Rosetta Branch, and Barbara Parrish, sister-in-law: Sandra Dexter. Special cousins Rubye Coleman, Trent Ford, Anthony Ford (all of Cordele, Georgia), and many other nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and Christian family.
