Bishop Eugene Lamar Cooper

Bishop Eugene “Bilbo” Cooper, Sunrise August 2, 1947, and Sunset December 8, 2023. Born to Maggie Clayton Phillips and Eugene Cooper Sr. in Martinsville Pennsylvania. Proudly raised by his parents Ethridge “Buck” and Maggie Phillips (both deceased), in the city of Pompano Beach Florida where he attended school and graduated from Blanche Ely High school in 1967. He worked tirelessly for many years as a Swimming Pool Specialist. So many pools over the South Florida area has his fingerprint on them. Eugene and Earnestine Davis met and fell in love for what seems like a lifetime ago. They were inseparable, when you see one you saw the other. And he took pride in saying… “I had her since she was 25 years old… been with her ever since”. He was saved and accepted Christ as his savior with the prayer and prompting of his wife and many prayer warriors he surrendered and answered the call of the Father. He served the Lord diligently for 40 + years in many areas of ministry. As a Deacon on the board at Kings Temple Revival Center to Ordained Elder. During that time Bishop Eugene help organize a prayer witness team that traveled from Miami to Georgia street ministering and carrying the word to the lost and destitute. Visiting Hospitals and nursing homes praying for the sick and shut-in and hosting in-home prayer meetings. From that work, then Elder Eugene received the call to work with then Evangelist John Mohorn in his Tent Ministry and to later opening “Word of the Living God Ministries as their Assistant Pastor. Then later in that work he was called back to Kings Temple Revival Center to Assist in pastoring there at that church with Pastor Fannie Martin at the passing of her husband and Senior Pastor Elder Samuel Martin. It was during his return service to Kings Temple Revival Center that Elder Eugene Cooper received the higher call from the Father to search out and lead a new following as Ordained Pastor. Eagles Life Ministry Church of the Living God was founded in the year of our Lord 1998 By then Elder (Ordained by Bishop Felton Snell as Pastor) and his wife Then Prophetess Earnestine Cooper. Bishop was ordained as Bishop and Overseer in December of 2003. Bishop loved his church family and all who were acquainted with him. He was a brutally honest person who believed in speaking his mind and the truth. If you don’t want to hear the truth you don’t ask Bishop. He loved his wife and children without bias and there was no secret to those who knew him all knew of his favor! Preceded him in death, Son Rodney A Davis and Brother Ethridge Phillips Jr. Bishop Eugene “Bilbo” Cooper was survived by his family. His loving and devoted wife Apostle Earnestine Davis Cooper and his loving children and grandchildren. Children: Eugene Cooper III, Mareka Davis, Terry Cooper, Morris Cooper, Deniece Marshall (Donnie), Love Facyson, Darriss Cooper (Tamieka). Grand-children: Deandra Davis, Emerald Cooper, Ethan and Ervohnna Marshall (Twins), Endia Cooper, Emanual Marshall, Kristian Cooper, Karson Cooper, Erin Facyson, Demarcus McQueen and Demani McQueen. Special Family members: Tracy Francis and Sherita Jennings. Brothers: Ethridge Phillps Jr, Derrick Phillips (Kassandra), Sisters: Rhunette Kight (Al), Betty Phillips. His favorite in-laws whom he had the best relationship with: Brother in-laws: John Davis Jr (Widower), Hugh King (Annette). Sisters in law: Hazel Marion (Nathaniel), Anna Parker (Charlie). God-children: Selina Dukes-Johnson, Crystal Fullwood (Darryl) Anthony Ford (Tabitha) and Terence Walker. And so many beloved nieces and nephews, cousins, God-grandchildren and extended family members and other relatives. Bishop was a man who loved hard if you were in his love circle and most people he met were, then you had a ROCK behind you. He will be so dearly missed and once his candle went out there is no other candle in its place.
