Errol Henry

Sunrise Errol Henry, affectionately known as “Papsie Wapsie,” was born on April 9, 1963, in Manchester, Jamaica, to the late Adeline Henry and Clement Henry. He attended Mizpah All-Age School in Manchester, Jamaica, where he received his early education. In 1988, Errol relocated from Jamaica to the United States in search of greater opportunities and a better future for his family. He later became a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Pompano Beach, Florida, where he worshipped and built a closer relationship with God. On April 24, 1995, he united in holy matrimony with the love of his life, Mercy Hill Henry, sharing a bond built on love, commitment, and family. Family and Legacy Errol Henry was preceded in death by his parents, Adeline Henry and Clement Henry; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Essie Goodrum Hill and Albert Hill; his son, Darmond Lindsey; his brother, Winston Henry; his sister, Pearlene Henry; and his brother-in-law, James Hill, Sr. Left to honor his life and legacy is his loving devoted wife, Mercy Hill Henry; his children, Veneka Lindsey, Courtney Gordon, Errol De’Andre Henry Jr. (Consquela), Bruce Henry, and Daneale Henry. His love and guidance will continue through his beloved grandchildren, Courtney Gordon Jr., Kyla Waldo, Mercy Gordon, K’yanna Waldo, De’Andre Tremble, Tyson Salter, Karsyn Beauchamp, Romaine Green, Tayelia Smith, Tayshia Smith, Mickayla Henry, Jaheem Henry, Abria Henry, and Mahki Henry. Holding close to the many memories shared with him are his sisters, Gladstone Henry, Joyce Henry, and Marcia Henry; and his brothers, Clifford Henry, Archibald Henry, and Leroy Henry. Remembering him with love are his brother-in-law, Albert Hill (Lenora), his sister-in-law, Essie Hill Reed, and his beloved goddaughter, Viergeline Verne. Errol shared a treasured friendship with Alfred Tafe, Kyler Waldo, and Rev. Dr. Nathaniel B. Knowles. Their bond was filled with laughter, support, conversations, and unforgettable memories that will forever remain close to their hearts. His life touched many, leaving behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and sorrowing friends who will forever remember his kindness, love, and unforgettable spirit. Sunset Errol Henry entered eternal rest on Sunday, April 26, 2026. Though he is no longer with us physically, his love, laughter, and unforgettable spirit will remain in our hearts forever. “Footprints in the Sand” reminds us that during the hardest moments in life, God carries us through. Errol’s journey on earth may have ended, but his footprints will forever remain in the sands of our hearts.
