A Life Well Lived Mrs. Dorothy Juanita Blue Wright, a God-Fearing woman of Family, Faith & Tradition whose presence was graced upon the earth on the 30th day of September 1934. Dorothy was gifted to the parents of Deacon Ralph Joseph Blue, Sr., and Sister Alice Grant Blue, rearing along with her nine beautiful siblings in the Blue’s Family lineage of four brothers: Willie Blue, Joe Blue, Ralph Blue, Jr. (preceded in eternal rest) and Reynold Blue, Sr.; five sisters: Mable West, Christine Butler, Esther Phillips (Kenneth), and Thelma Lewis (preceded in eternal rest) and Lucinda Rozier. Dorothy was raised in a family that pride themselves on working diligently and supporting their family, community, and their church. Family values and traditions of living their Christian faith, education and entrepreneurship was precedence in their home. Her life of academics began at Coleman Elementary School in Pompano Beach, Florida, where she then matriculated to Blanche Ely High School and proudly graduated with the Class of 1955. Dorothy’s tenacity of knowledge expanded, and her inquisitive nature for education was taken to another level of believing beyond the life she had already experienced, and she strived to constantly evolve. After attending Bethune-Cookman University in Daytona Beach, Florida, her path of life led her to creating a life of love, and in 1957 she joined her loving husband Hollis W. Wright, Sr. in Holy Matrimony. As she began to grow her legacy of five beautiful children; Dorothy continued her passion of working with children and families in the community and in various organizations with the Broward County Juvenile Detention Center, Broward County Public Schools and retiring from her twenty-five plus years of Entrepreneurship with Dorothy Wright’s Daycare in her own home. She inspired and positively influenced the lives of many people in different walks of life with her contagious smile, nurturing spirit, and sassy personality. Dorothy devoted her life to Christ in her earlier years of life and was a lifelong member of The House of God Church in Pompano Beach, Florida under the pastoral leaderships of late Dr. B.J. McCormick, late Elder R.D. Herbert, Rev. Larry Taylor, Sr., late Nathaniel Johnson and present Pastor, Dr. Semmie Z. Taylor, Sr. who appointed her as Trial Deaconess where she served as a devoted Secretary of Sunday Bible School, Member of the Choir and a Member of the #1 Usher Board. Serving God and her church was her heart’s treasure, and she remained a faithful member until her earthly departure. Serving her family was always her greatest joy, and she took pleasure in ensuring that her family was cared for and nurtured in every way. Dorothy’s desire for her hobbies of traveling, watching sports and keeping the company of her children and grandchildren left her tirelessly able to maintain and live a great life. As she took care of her family and others, she instilled the Love and Light of Jesus Christ in their lives through praying and tough love which afforded them all to a better life. Life began to unfold for Dorothy in unimaginable ways as she exemplified the life, she fervently believed Christ wanted her to live. She witnessed the miraculous hand of God change the trajectory of the lives of her family and friends throughout her life. Knowing life’s challenges were inevitable, Dorothy always challenged herself the robust fight within to always stand firm and keep the faith, believing that God would work things out in the end. “May the works I’ve done speak for me” was the song Dorothy would always sing in her alone time with God. She was blessed and granted a plethora of opportunities of encouraging and impacting the lives of many people. She was the “Life of the Party” and always spreading Love, Laughter, and great faith-filled spiritual energy. “Give me my flowers while I live,” is what Dorothy would say to her family and friends and to those who knew her, but on the evening of Monday, June 20, 2022, God deemed it necessary to pick the most beautiful flower in his garden of life to bring to his Heavenly Home. Dorothy Juanita Blue Wright transitioned from her earthly home to be with the Lord. Her Life Well Lived is commemorated by her Loving Husband, Children, Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren with unconditional love of Family, Faith, and Tradition; Husband: Hollis W. Wright, Suzette Wright; As a Daughter: Sheri Gordon, Melissa Fitzgerald, Melisa Tai and Claudine Burrell; Grandchildren: Chakka McFadden-Brown (David), Latoya D. Wright, Frederick J. Wright, Jr. (Alexis), Tevaris D. Wright, Sr. (Tamara), Jeremy J. Wright, Cortney C. Wright (Iman), Dan Mathis, III, Lakesha S. Wright (David), Michael D. Beckford, Isaac T. Wright, Ahmad R. Wright, Aaliyah A. Wright; Great Grandchildren: Ashanti Dawkins, Layla Storr, Layana Storr, Frederick J. Wright, Jr., Tevaris D. Wright, Jr., Alana Wright, Saige Wright, Mila Beckford, Kentrell Powell, Kortney Wright, Phoenix Wright, and Dallas Wright. Sister: Lucinda Rozier (Prince); Brother: Reynold Blue (Melba). As a Special Niece: Muriel Pope and Jackie Rush; God Children: Lindra Golatt, Jobi Tyson, Vivian King, Charlotte Major-Shipman, and Kimberly Robinson; Caretakers: Marcia Nelson, Juliette Dubreuse and Nurse Patti, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
