Bernice Loretta McLemore-Harris

Time to be Born Bernice Loretta McLemore was born on November 28, 1955, to the late Willie McLemore Sr., and Tressie Horne McLemore in Pompano Beach, Florida. Bernice was reared in a Christian home. The Family attended Bethel AME Church of Pompano Beach, Florida. In 1995 she joined Metro Life Chapel under the Pastoral ship of Pastor Gray Washington and Co-Pastor Sandra Washington. She was appointed as Elder and head usher by Pastor Gray Washington. She was a faithful servant for 28 years. Time for Education Bernice was educated in the Broward County Public School System. Where she graduated in 1973 from Blanche Ely High School. Proceeding to graduate high school she attended college majoring in Business Administration. Time for Family Bernice was a loving mother to four children: Kamella (Kammy), Kedric (K.K.), Karwin and Kayar. Bernice had an affectionate smile that seemed to radiate happiness. Also, her fashionable dressing always accented with a flower in her hair. She was well known in the community for her tasty soul food cooking. In 1985 she was united in holy matrimony to Ralph Harris. Time for Work Bernice became gainfully employed with Florida Medical Center in the billing department for 30 plus years. She later became employed at Holy Cross Medical Center where she retired as Director of the billing department. Bernice had a passion for children, after she retired, she began keeping children of family and friends in her home. Time to Mourn Bernice was preceded in death by her parents Mr. Willie and Mrs. Tressia McLemore, four brothers: Willie Jr., Randolph, Charles, and Thomas (Tommy), two sisters: Lorraine and Alice. Bernice legacy is left to be cherished by her four children: Kamella (Kerry) Jones, Kedric Taylor, Karwin McLemore and Kayar McLemore-Anderson, grandchildren: Shanard Taylor, Shon’Keirra Taylor, Kedric Taylor Jr., Karwin McLemore Jr., Kamyiah Jones, Elijah Taylor, Kamora Jones, Fabian Anderson, and Farah Anderson, 5 great-grandchildren, 3 brothers: Richard (Linda) McLemore of Atlanta, GA., Rev. Alphonso McLemore of Pompano Beach, Henry (Beverly) McLemore of Brandon, FL., sister: Eugenia Gordon of Houston, TX., godchildren: Tremayne Thompson and David Johnson, and a host of nieces, nephews, bonus children, bonus grandchildren, relatives and friends.
