II Corinthians 5:6-9 KJV Archie Stephens, Sr. was born on December 31, 1947 in Walterboro, South Carolina to the parentage of the late James Stephens and Nethal Stephans. in 1948, his parents and their Seven children relocated to Pompano Beach, Florida and would make South Florida their permanent home. Archie received his education within the Broward County Public School System and graduating and receiving his High School Diploma from Blanche Ely High School in 1965. During his school years is where he met the love of his life, Leila Tigner and as wisdom proved to prevail, their two hearts joined and on March 24, 1967 they were united in Holy Matrimony. To this Blessed union two sons were born Archie Stephens, Jr. and James Stephens, Sr. He was a very hard worker and dedicated to whatever he was tasked to do. Archie was employed at Florida Atlantic University (FAU) for 13 years and the Department of Transportation (DOT) for 18 years, retiring in 2011 from the State of Florida with over 28 years of service. Job well done. He had a great passion for Bowling and Football was his favorite sport and he enjoyed them both but nothing surpassed his love for Christ. In 2006, Archie gave his life to Christ and was a faithful and dedicated member of One Church Ministries, in West Palm Beach, FL under the Leadership of his brother Pastor Don Stephens, where he served on the Deacon Board until 2020. during the Pandemic when his health began to fail him. Those who are left to cherish his memories are His Loving and Devoted Wife, His Soulmate Leila Stephens, Two Sons Archie Stephens, Jr. and James Stephens, Sr. (Nikeya); Six Grandchildren James Stephens, Jr. Ariyonna Stephens, Jeremiah Stephens, Emmanuel Stephens, Imani Thomas and Isaiah Thomas; Six Siblings: Four Brothers Dr., James Stephens(Peggy), Marion Stephens(Angnette), Willie Stephens, Sr. (Faith) and Don Stephens, ESQ. (Debra), Two Sisters Dr. Albertha Stephens and Burnette Stephens Mohorn; Two Sister-In-Laws Melvin Walker and Lucille Jones, One Brother-in-law Elder Eric Tigner (Francis); One Godson Ricky Sutton and One God Sister Fannie Baker (Tony). Deacon Archie Stephens, Sr. was well loved will be Greatly Missed by Everyone including a host of family members, nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
