Reflections of Life A Time to Be Born... Anthony James McLendon, Sr. was born on January 28, 1966 in Pompano Beach, Florida to the late Willie M. McLendon, Sr. and Maebell G. McLendon. He was the youngest of five siblings. A Time to Learn... Anthony matriculated through the Broward County Public School System. A Time to Love and Serve... He was a current employee of Deerfield Lawn and Tree Services. Cutting lawn was his passion, he was a perfectionist at beautifying lawn and getting the job done. He loved and enjoyed spending quality time with his family and grandchildren. He was affectionately called “Pa Pa” by his grandchildren who love and adore him so much. Anthony has an unconditional love for his entire family and friends. A Time to Rest... Life’s book closed on Monday, January 11, 2021. Anthony was surrounded by his loving family. McLendon (Sharon), Wiley Edwards (Rachel), Tyrell McLendon, Jerry Gibson (Helen); Four Sisters: Tangeline Gamble, Valerie McLendon, Melette McLendon, Kristine McLendon; Three Aunts: Vera Moore, Ruth Spivey, Mavis Turner; Four Stepchildren: Brandon Brown, Adrian Witty (Natalia), Ashley Witty, Brittany Strachan; Nieces: Lakisha Reckley (Ryan); Shantalae Worthy, Ga’Lanya Adderly, Ashton Hawe (Darnell), Keneta Smith (Chris), Kia, Trinity; Nephews: Quinton McLendon (Shakela), Jaiden; Three Special Great Nieces: Bri’Nesha Powell, Megan Gerrow and Avanti Aguilar; God Parents: Larry and Katie Jenkins; God Brothers/Sisters: Maurice Major, Vernon Thompson, Alexander Thompson, Johnny Wimberly, Larry Jenkins, Jr., Janetta Jenkins, Jennifer Jenkins, Julius Jenkins, Erica Ward; Devoted Friend: Barbara Witty; Best Friend: Oscar Giles; Special Nieces: Shantalae “Sug” Worthy, Lakisha Reckley and Ashton Hawe; Special Nephew: Quinton McLendon; Special Cousin: Larry Cunningham; along with a host of cousins, other relatives and friends who all will miss him.
