Anthony George Leroy

Anthony George Leroy July 13th, 1947 – May 4th, 2023 Anthony George Leroy, 75, loving husband, father & grandfather passed away on May 4th, 2023 at his residence. Anthony affectionately known as “Tony” was born on July 13th, 1947 to Lucienne Antoinette Etienne -Leroy & Hiram Leroy in Pétion-Ville, Haiti. Anthony grew up in Haiti and moved to the United States in the early 60’s. Anthony was enlisted to the U.S Army where he proudly served his new country. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, he earned several medals, including the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and Combat Infantryman Badge. Anthony returned to Brooklyn, NY in 1974 after serving over six years in Vietnam. He loved to travel and learn new things; he had a great understanding and fascination with galaxies. He was an adventurous person, he lived in California, St. Thomas, USVI and after many years of adventure he finally settled in Pompano Beach, Florida. Anthony had a passion for music, so much so, he was a self-taught musician. He especially loved playing the guitar and piano. His favorite artist was Carlos Santana. He also loved to watch western films. He was a big animal lover, especially with chihuahuas such as his beloved Angelita (predeceased) with whom he travelled with and recently Lulu who was always with him. Anthony’s interests and talents were vast and varied. He was always reading and learning new things. He never stopped looking for the answers to health's most asked questions. He was a healer, writer, artist, and captivated by anything that was of interest to him. He made many friends along the way; he was just the kind of person who drew people in. Anyone who knew Anthony knew that he was the most loving and dedicated husband and father, grandfather, brother, uncle a family could ask for and the friend you could always count on. He will be missed by many. Left to cherish his memories is the love of his life, beloved wife of over 30 years Belinda Hill-Leroy. Sons: Elijah Hood-Leroy (Samantha), Kwame Leroy, Jeremy Swearin and daughter: Bianca Swearin. Grandchildren: Consuela Hood, Enoch Hood, Lyric Coissy, Bruce Hood and Jasmine Hood. Anthony is predeceased by his mother Lucienne Etienne, father Hiram Leroy, sister Kelita Leroy and grandson Samuel Hood. He is survived by his brother: Patrick H. Leroy Sisters: Nicole Leroy & Angele Riguad. Brother & Sister- in- laws: Florence Malebranche, Maria Leroy, Anthony Hill Sr. Cassandra Hill, Stephanie Hill, Larry Williams, Dionne Hughes-Morss, Clorinda Bell (preceded in death), Deborah Bell, Gwen Bell, Gloria Bell, Sharon Bell, Kenny Bell, Charlie Bell. Host of special friends and family. Nieces & Nephews: Elisha Reidy (Falecia Robinson), Ryan Reidy, Victor Lahens, Shala Bullard (Geno), Valdimir Leroy, Stephanie Lambert, Deanna Lazarus, Jessica Lazarus, Patrick Leroy Rodriguez, Vivianne Kelita Carpio Leroy, Tatiana Carpio Leroy and Mario Carpio Leroy. Special mention of cousins: Marlene Duchatellier, Alex Duchatellier, Mona Benjamin, Michelot Benjamin, Evelyn Benjamin and predeceased Leslie Duchatellier, Mary Claude Duchatellier, Guitelle Duchatellier, and Pierre Richard Benjamin. And the countless lives of family and friends, too many to mention, he touched over the span of his life. He will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
