A Life of Sacrifice and Strength Annemarie Michaud, a woman of indomitable spirit and boundless compassion, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2026, surrounded by the family she spent her entire life protecting and providing for. Born on June 4, 1939, Annemarie was the second of eight siblings. From a young age, she carried the weight of responsibility with grace. Faced with a lack of opportunity in her region of Haiti, Annemarie made the grueling choice to travel for work, leaving her young children behind. This was not a choice made out of desire, but out of a fierce, motherly devotion to ensure her children and her siblings never went without. A Legacy Without Borders When Annemarie moved to the United States, her mission only grew. She didn't just build a life for herself; she built a bridge for others. While working tirelessly in the U.S., she became a mother to the motherless, taking in and raising more than 20 orphans in Haiti, ensuring every single one of them received the education and foundation they needed to succeed. Her legacy is not just written in her own bloodline, but in the lives of the dozens of children she rescued and championed. Family and Devotion Annemarie was the pillar of the Bien-Aime, Michaud, and Edouard families. She is survived by her two children, including her son in Haiti and her daughter in the United States, Line Edouard, along with her son-in-law, Willy Edouard and daughter-n-law, Solange Guarieer. Her influence stretches across generations, leaving behind Nine grandchildren: Widlin Edouard (Diane Edouard), Samuel Edouard, Wesley Edouard, Wisline Edouard (Landy Edouard), Donalda Desir, Madoline Desir, and Doreen Desir. She also leaves behind the joy of 14 great-grandchildren. An Inseparable Bond While Annemarie had a heart big enough for everyone, she shared a unique and profound bond with her granddaughter, Wisline Edouard. The two were inseparable, sharing a connection that transcended the typical grandmother-granddaughter relationship. Wisline was her constant companion, and the love they shared remained a source of immense strength and comfort for Annemarie until the very end. She came from humble beginnings in Haiti to create a global legacy of love. She has finished her work, and her impact will be felt for generations to come.
